A Lithuanian man who went missing two weeks ago has been found busking in Guildford.
Lukas Litvinskas, 20, disappeared on Monday March 3, after telling his flatmate he was going out to collect rent money from the bank.
Following more than a week of worried searching by his family and friends, Aivaras Skrodenis, Lukas' flatmate in Burlington Court in Cargate Grove, said he had been found in Guildford High Street on Thursday afternoon (March 13), playing his guitar.
Lukas has now returned to his home country, and Aivaras, 21, a student at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, said he was still in the dark about why his former schoolmate had gone missing, having never done anything like it before.
"It's very hard to say why he did it," he said. "Even he can't explain why he did such a thing."
A sighting of Lukas had been reported in Guildford two days before he was found, but when his sister Aiste, who had travelled over from Lithuania to lead the search, and Aivaras went to speak to shop owners in High Street they were unable to locate the missing man.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said last week that officers had made "a lot of enquiries" in order to try and locate Lukas.
However, another tip-off from a member of the public, who said they had spotted someone who looked identical to Lukas' image on missing posters, led to his discovery.
"I'm just glad that everything is over and it ended up as a happy ending," said Aivaras.
