IT was a very hatty occasion when St Peter's Church Over Sixties Club decided to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee with a tea party.

In line with the Queen's love of millinery, some of the ladies made their own hats for the day.

Prizes for the most original red, white and blue hats went to Mrs Marjorie Benson, of Farm Road, Frimley, and Mrs Eileen Smith, of Bridgemead, Frimley.

The group heard five readings about various aspects of the Queen's reign, sang several patriotic songs and finished with the national anthem.
