IT was an honour and a privilege to attend the official opening of the new Knight Centre For Cystic Fibrosis at Frimley Park Hospital by Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, Patron of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
She chatted to many of the patients and fundraisers and was presented with a bouquet by one of the young patients in a wheelchair.
The Knight Foundation unit is one of the very few units in the country dedicated to helping patients who have this debilitating and life-threatening disease.
We know that everything possible, and seemingly impossible, will be done by Dr Knight and his team to prolong and improve their lives.
I would like to thank all the people any many friends who gave so generously and helped in many ways to raise money for this unit during my mayoral year 2000-01.
It was a moving experience to represent you at the opening.
Patricia F M Pearce, Mayor of Surrey Heath 2000-01, Copped Hall Way, Camberley.
