NINE-year-old Isobel Pooley organised a sponsored cycle ride from Pondtail Bridge in Fleet to the Barley Mow at Winchfield on Sunday - in order to raise money towards a special "all-terrain" buggy for her handicapped sister Jessica.
Accompanying Isobel on the ten mile trip were four of her classmates from Heatherside Junior School in Fleet, her four-year-old sister Alice, her mum and dad, two friends and the family dog Tara.
Jessica, who is 12, suffers from a rare chromosome disorder and cannot walk, talk or feed herself. But her parents say she is a cheerful child and loves movement.
The buggy she needs will cost £1,600 and Isobel is determined that Jessica will have one. Parents at the girls' schools and from Alice's former playgroup (Court Moor Community) sponsored the ride. Around £550 has now been raised and the Pooleys hope a local charity may help with the rest- "if not the girls will no doubt think of another fund raising idea!" Ring the Pooleys on 01252 628298.
