SIX Rushmoor Council employees have lost their jobs following a takeover of their department.
The redundant staff were employed in the highways section, which worked on an agency basis for Hampshire County Council.
That work, which includes roads maintenance, has now been taken over by the county council.
Three other members of the old section have transferred to the county council.
Rushmoor has been left to deal with such matters as street cleaning, parking problems and removing abandoned vehicles.
A new Street Scene department has been set up to oversee this environmental-type work.
Department boss Jim Pettitt said: "We have appointed officers for Aldershot and Farnborough to help keep in touch with the views of residents and businesses."
