TRAFFIC was held up for three hours in central Aldershot on Tuesday morning when this container lorry jack-knifed as it went round the roundabout at the junction of High Street and Ordnance Road.
Sand had to be spread on the slippery road after 500 litres of diesel oil leaked from its tank, which had been ruptured in two places. The Southampton based lorry had been making a delivery in Aldershot. It was eventually towed away.
Environmental protection officers from the Environment Agency at Frimley were soon on the scene. After an inspection they found there had been no seepage into the Blackwater River.
