A car 'completely engulfed' in flames on the M3 delayed motorists driving into north east Hampshire on Tuesday morning (July 28).
Firefighters were called to the blaze just after 8.30am between the junctions 6 and 7 of the northbound motorway near Basingstoke.
A passing motorist captured this footage on his dash cam and said the car had been completely engulfed by the fire as it sat on the hard shoulder.
He said traffic was queueing back past the A303 exit south of Basingstoke.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the private car was "severely damaged" by the fire.
Breathing apparatus was used to extinguish the flames, with firefighters from Basingstoke remaining at the scene until almost 10am.
