A MAN has been accused of stealing a solitaire diamond from an 82-year-old woman at Yateley.
James Johnson, aged 23, is alleged to have dislodged the stone from its setting by biting his victim's finger.
Johnson, unemployed, of Cheltenham, has been charged with one count of robbery.
He has also been charged with two burglary offences alleged to have been committed in Berkshire. Aldershot magistrates remanded him in custody on Wednesday last week. He was due to appear at Winchester Crown Court as the Star went to press.
