Man in court charged with murdering his mother

Geoffrey Hobbis, accused of killing his 79-year-old mother, has appeared in front of crown court

A man from Fleet accused of murdering his elderly mother has appeared in court.

Geoffrey Hobbis, 58, of Brookly Gardens is charged with the murder of 79-year-old Barbara Hobbis of the same address.

Mrs Hobbis was found dead at the bungalow they shared on May 31. The cause of her death has not yet been revealed.

Appearing at Winchester Crown Court on Monday (August 18), Mr Hobbis did not enter a plea, although provisional trial dates of the week of November 24 or March 23 2015, were agreed.

He was remanded in custody ahead of another plea and case management hearing on October 10.
