Man in 40s was cutting trees in Farnborough playing fields when he fell, witness says
A MAN'S leg was impaled on a fence post in a Farnborough park.
Witnesses say work was being carried out on some trees in the King George V playing fields when the man, in his 40s, fell onto the fence at just before 4pm on Thursday (August 22).
Ambulance vehicles attended, followed by the air ambulance helicopter, and the man was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital to receive treatment.
There were fears the man's injuries could have caused severe blood loss, but an eye witness said he had been lucky that the fence post had missed the main artery in his leg. He is now recovering well.
