A man who was arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire in a block of flats in Fleet has been interviewed and released on bail by police.

Tenants and owners of the flats in Kingswood Court, off Kings Road, were forced to flee their homes just after 4am on April 15 after a fire broke out in the kitchen of one of the ground floor flats. The flat suffered extensive damage but was the only one affected.

The tenant of the flat where the fire started was arrested that morning. He has now been interviewed by police and has been bailed until July 9.

An investigation determined that the fire may have been started deliberately and Hampshire Constabulary officers are continuing to investigate.
