A man was punched and knocked unconscious in a busy Aldershot street.

Police are investigating the assault in Upper Union Street, which happened on Monday March 10 at around 4pm.

The 30-year-old man was punched "a number of times", Hampshire police said, before he was briefly knocked unconscious.

Officers are keen to hear from two workmen dressed in hard hats and hi-visibility jackets and a woman with two small children who were nearby and could have seen the attack.

Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Stan Howe at Fleet police station on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
