A MOTORIST was killed immediately after surviving an eight-vehicle pile-up at Farnborough last Saturday night.

The 35-year-old man from Godalming stepped out of his car to survey the damage, only to be struck by another vehicle.

Four other people were injured in the accident which happened on the A331 near the Lynchford Road turnoff.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which, they said, was caused by a vehicle hitting the central reservation and bouncing off.

They believe the occupants of a white vehicle with a trailer may have seen what happened. Officers would also like to speak to the occupant of another vehicle who left the scene soon after they arrived.
