A YOUNG Yateley mother drowned after having an epileptic fit in the bath at her home, the North Hants Coroner, Mr Andrew Bradley, was told at a Basingstoke inquest on Tuesday.
Recording a misadventure verdict on Mrs Helen Morris (33), of Manor Park Drive, Mr Bradley said that the instability that went with epilepsy meant sufferers had to be vigilant.
Mrs Morris had been told by her husband not to have a bath when he was not present. The Coroner added: "It is a sad business. She knew the risks she lived with and she has paid the price."
Mrs Morris began to have seizures after undergoing a Caesarean section. Her husband Michael, who found her in the bath when he returned from work on November 12, said she had been getting better. At one time she had had as many as seven seizures a day, but this had diminished to about one a month.
