TWO thugs beat a Camberley accountant unconscious before setting light to his office early on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old victim was confronted by the villains as he opened up his office above Hitz Video in London Road.
After punching him to the floor the pair set light to a flammable liquid which they had poured in four separate places in the room.
They fled, leaving the accountant unconscious in the blazing office.
He came round and managed to drag himself half out of the entrance door where he was discovered by a woman employee.
The accountant was taken to Frimley Park Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
A Surrey Heath fire crew tackled the blaze, which wrecked the office and its contents. Damage is estimated at thousands of pounds.
Judy Williams, Camberley police press officer, said: "The victim is very lucky to be alive."
His two attackers were both of Asian appearance. One was 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build and with bloodshot eyes. His accomplice was 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothing.
Police are anxious to trace two witnesses seen near the office at 8.40am on Tuesday when the incident happened.
One is a woman who was in a white Peugeot 205, and the other is a youngster aged 16-18 with short blond hair who was sitting on a motor-scooter.
This pair, or anyone else with useful information, should contact Detective Sergeant Simon Humphries on 01276 27131.
