HART'S full council will be asked tonight (Thursday, 28th.) to give the go-ahead for 33 new homes on land around the Old Forge Café off Watery Lane in Church Crookham.
The scheme from Try Homes was recommended for approval by the district's Development Control Committee last week.
It would see the café and a house called At Last demolished while the "Hampshire Treasure" house Old Forge Cottage (built in 1767) would remain, with modern extensions removed.
Among the objectors was Crookham Village Parish Council which complained that the development was too dense.
Consent would be conditional on landscaping and financial contribution agreements.
Eight of the homes are for affordable housing and Hart will try to increase the number of units for rent from the present two.
