THE streets of North Camp are set to come alive to the sounds of the T S Swiftsure Sea Cadets Band on Saturday, July 13, as they lead the procession of "A Right Royal Rave Up and family picnic".

Children from local schools, dressed up in "anything royal" will parade along Camp Road and Queens Road heading into Queens Road Recreation Ground for an afternoon of picnics and entertainment for the whole family.

The children's procession will set off from Camp Road at 11.30am and it is hoped residents will line the route and enjoy the music of T S Swiftsure as they march into the park for 12pm.

Attractions in the park include arena displays, bouncy castle, children's play area, giant tombola, cocktail bar and face-painting to name but a few.

The event aims to bring the community together for a day of fun, while raising awareness of local facilities. Groups, organisations, clubs, leisure facilities and businesses in the North Camp area are being invited to attend the event to promote their activities, recruit volunteers and raise funds.

Coun. Nigel Baines said: "Many of the groups in North Camp need more volunteers to help run them more effectively. This event will provide a great opportunity for these groups to promote themselves within the community and give people a chance to find out what they are about and how they can get involved."

Any organisations serving North Camp community or within easy reach of the area are invited to attend.

Space is still available, so if you would like to take part in the event and you are able to promote your group with either a static display stand, fun activity, or fund raising event then contact Debbie on 01252 398793.

Any groups who would like to take part in the parade are welcome and should again contact Debbie on the above number.

The event is being organised by local organisations with support from Rushmoor Council and a number of local traders. Organisers hope that this event will be the catalyst for an annual family day.
