A MAN and a woman stole a purse containing £80 in cash after tricking their way into the pensioner's home at Fleet.
The evil pair followed the owner, who is in her 80s, to her flat at Woodlands and asked if they could use her telephone.
While the woman pretended to make the call, her accomplice asked for a drink of water.
They took the purse while the pensioner was in the kitchen fetching the drink.
In addition to the cash, the purse contained her pension book and Halifax bank book.
Both villains are described as aged 25-30. The man was of dark European appearance, and was wearing a black top and black trousers.
The woman was white. She was wearing a short beige-coloured coat with hood.
Police have appealed for information from anyone who saw the pair in the area on Christmas Eve afternoon.
