A bicycle built for 23 will be tootling around the roads on Saturday morning to drum up support for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Farnham.

The 23 seater bike will be ridden by nurses, patrons and fund raisers and will publicise the hospice's team of 14 marathon runners.

The runners will be trying to raise £1,000 each in the London Marathon.

Chief fund raiser Claire Walker said that the police know about the bike, which is taxed and roadworthy.

Anyone who would like to help with sponsorship can ring the hospice on 01252 729433. It costs about £8,000 a day to run the 20-bed hospice, and the NHS supplies only about 15% of that.
