Held at Aldershot's Manor Park, it was described as a "fantastic family-friendly event"
Birds of prey and belly-dancing in the rain were highlights of a police community event held in Aldershot, which was declared a success despite the weather.
Music from the Hampshire Constabulary Brass Band, Nepalese dancing displays, martial arts, a dog show and a 'gun run' by the Farnborough Military Preparation College also entertained visitors to the second Picnic in the Park event in Manor Park on Saturday (September 14).
Organised by Hampshire Constabulary, the event was intended to bring members of the community together to try new activities and engage with police officers.
PCSO Oliver Walker, from the Aldershot Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: "Events like this are a fantastic opportunity for us to meet the local community and listen to any concerns or issues they may have.
"This was a fantastic family-friendly event that saw lots of families come out to enjoy themselves.
"It is brilliant to be able to interact with children from a young age so they have an understanding of what the police do and how to stay safe."
