Piglets pull in crowds at farm open days

Families invited to meet a Hook farm's newest arrivals: piglets, lambs and calves

Miller's Ark welcome these adorable piglets

Eight little piglets stole the show during an open day at Miller's Ark Animals, in Hook, at the weekend.

The piglets belong to Mrs Wiggins, the farm's Kune Kune pig, and can be seen during more open days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (February 20-22)from noon until 4pm.

Farm owner Elizabeth Miller said more lambs were born on the farm this week, with the smallest tucked up under heat lamps in the barn out of the cold wind and rain.

"The older lambs are scampering around and you can cuddle them during the open days," she said.

"There are lots more heavily pregnant girls due to lamb too. And of course there's Kitty's beautiful twin calves and QT, our little orphan calf."

The open days offer a unique hands on experience for visitors, who can go in every pen and handle all the animals.

Children and adults are encouraged to groom baby donkeys and ponies, cuddle lambs and baby goats, stroke rabbits and guinea pigs on their laps, hold tiny chicks and ducklings and tickle the piglets tummies.

Youngsters can also let off steam in the straw play area or take a ride on Looby Loo, the farm train.
