POLICE believe a pizza delivery driver may have ridden into a trap set by two robbers at Aldershot.

Someone telephoned for a pizza to be delivered to a house in Whitchurch Close, but when the driver knocked on the door the occupiers said they hadn't placed an order.

As the driver prepared to ride away he was waylaid by the villains who tried to snatch the machine from him.

When he refused to let go, one of the youths threatened him with a flick knife.

The robbers, both white, fled after stealing the scooter keys and a number of other items.

Their 32-year-old victim was shocked but otherwise unhurt.

One of the villains is described as aged 18-19, 5ft 7in tall, slim build, clean shaven with mousy coloured short hair.

He was wearing a light grey sweatshirt with a hood. He produced the flick knife.

His accomplice was of a similar age and appearance.

Police have appealed for information from anyone who was in the area at about 10.30pm on Tuesday 17 September when the incident happened.

Witnesses should contact DC Rob Brocklehurst at Aldershot police station on 01256 405188.
