THE BT Stardome, an inflatable planetarium, will be one of this weekend's attractions at Farnborough. Part of the educational programme of the Millennium Commission-funded National Space Centre, the BT Stardome creates a perfectly dark night sky with stars and planets projected into their positions for any time of the year.
Presentations at Farnborough will explore the solar system before taking the audience on a tour of the night sky. Gareth James one of the education managers at the National Space Centre, says they want to make it possible for every school or group in the country to have access to a planetarium. "A visit can grip even the most unscientific of us and it might be the inspiration someone needs to make them one of the next generation of astronomers or space explorers."
