A PREGNANT Aldershot mother who smashed a glass over a man’s head during a pub party escaped jail because of her unborn baby.

Joanne Harrison, 33, flew into a rage after her brother Steve was kicked out for arguing with another man — Dean Connor.

Christopher Stoppard, prosecuting at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, said Harrison lashed out with the glass, causing a severe cut to Mr Connor’s forehead which needed 14 stitches. She admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Nick Wells, defending, said Harrison, of Belle Vue Road, had recently come off Prozac she had been taking for depression. Harrison was given a two year suspended sentence with a supervision order to receive help from a psychiatrist.
