Teachers, professionals and community stalwarts are among those in north east Hampshire to be included in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

The honours, revealed on Friday night (June 13), are bestowed by the Queen every year as part of the celebration of her official birthday.

Barry Huggett, headteacher of a special needs school, has been appointed an OBE while Farnborough College of Technology principal Christine Slaymaker was appointed CBE for her services to education.

A British Empire Medal was awarded to Josephine De Bono, a community-spirited Aldershot resident, and Royal Navy Commander Mark Honnoraty has been appointed an OBE.

David John Way, of Fleet, was appointed OBE for services to technology, innovation and manufacturing for his role on the Technology Strategy Board.
