This group of creative ladies are the Log Cabin Quilters, pictured outside the WI hut at Hartley Wintney that is their base.

Their next exhibition is on June 14 and 15, a weekend, and all money raised from their quilt exhibition will go towards the formation of the Hampshire Air Ambulance service.

They are meeting today, Thursday May 22, at the hut and welcome new quilting enthusiasts. The hut is on Hartley Wintney village green where, every Friday from 10 am to 11 am, a W.I. market is held which features the sale of all kinds of fresh produce, from eggs and honey to plants, cakes and pastries, individually designed and hand made cards, embroidery, jams and much else.

It is a slice of old England right on the doorstep of a massive urban area and well worth a visit.

The contact for details of quilting is Doris Dove on 01252 617090.
