With less than two weeks to go before Christmas, Roy Lilley, Surrey Heath's former Mayor, is getting worried. Will his Christmas stocking be full in time for his senior citizens' party?

Each year on Christmas Day, Roy and his volunteers open the Ian Goodchild Day Centre in Knoll Road, Camberley, and provide lunch, with all the trimmings, for senior citizens who would otherwise spend the day alone.

Roy says: "We depend entirely on donations and gifts and this year has been unusually slow."

Roy is asking Star readers to add an extra gift, suitable for an elderly lady or gentleman, to their Christmas shopping list. He says: "It is ideal if the gifts can be wrapped and dropped off at the centre, but if not, I will gladly collect them."

If you can help on the day, have a gift, would like to make a donation, or would like to come to the party as a guest, call Roy on 01276 26288.
