Sport can be great fun, whether you win or not and that attitude has won an Endeavour Award for New Scotland Hill Primary School in Sandhurst.

The award was set up by Bracknell Forest Council to recognise outstanding sportsmanship and effort among pupils taking part in Young People in Sport events.

The school did not win any of the competitions, but "they always tried hard and took part with smiles on their faces" according to Chris Vaal, Leisure Development Manager at the council.

He added that: "The coaches who worked at the school were impressed with the pupils' enthusiasm and good behaviour."

Added Linda Northover, headteacher: "Our children have shown that winning is not everything and that just taking part in sport can be great fun. We are very proud of them for gaining this award."

There to present the award was Coun Mrs Dorothy Hayes, Mayor of Bracknell Forest.
