A LOCAL clergyman visited a Crowthorne funeral director to bless a special memorial tree and boost the coffers of the Amy Louise Appeal Fund.

Toddler Amy Louise Collins and mum Mandy from Crowthorne also attended the blessing which was carried out by Revd Brian Spence on Monday.

Two-year-old Amy suffers from a rare and severe form of muscular dystrophy and is in desperate need of funds for specialised equipment to give her independence.

David Greedy on Dukes Ride and its sister company Cyril H Lovegrove in the Ring in Bracknell, put up Christmas trees so people can hang poignant messages for their loved ones who have passed away.

After the blessing manager of the shop Danny Lynch

presented Amy with a giant cuddly teddy bear on behalf of the company.

Colin Bennell, of David Greedy, said: "The remembrance tree is something we have done for the last few years and this year we thought it would be nice to collect donations for little Amy.

"Christmas is always a time when people miss their loved ones so we thought this would be a nice opportunity to remember them."

If there are other relatives, friends and especially children who would like to complete a tag for the Memorial Christmas Tree, please call (01344) 421949.
