STAFF at a Camberley store were threatened with being stabbed by dirty syringes when they tried to detain two shoplifters.
The syringes were brandished by a man who intervened as a security officer questioned two women at Homebase. All three villains fled from the store chased by the security officer and two managers. They escaped in a blue Nissan Sunny car.
The two women had been stopped after they appeared to be trying to leave the store without paying for curtains worth £81. According to witnesses all three were white and dirty looking.
One of the women was aged about 20 with red hair. She was wearing a red top, black jeans and a black jacket. The other was skinny and about 5ft 2in tall. The man was 5ft 3in tall with black hair. He was wearing a brown jacket.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the trio speeding off from Homebase towards Sandhurst at about 6pm last Saturday. Witnesses should contact Camberley police on 0845 125 2222.
