SANDHURST residents are in for a treat next time they go shopping after Safeway unveiled its new look last week.

Cllr Peter North, mayor of Sandhurst, took the first peek at the new store last Wednesday during an official opening ceremony.

The store now boasts a new Fresh To Go counter, where chefs will be tossing pizzas and stir-frying noodles on the spot, giving customers the ultimate in takeaway.

Also new to the Yorktown Road store is a salad bar, delicatessen, bakery and butcher counters.

Store manager Lee Parham said: "We are very excited about our new look store and I would like to invite all our customers to try out the new products and services on offer as soon as they can.

"I think they will be very impressed with the new layout and feel of the store."
