A STUDENT at Farnborough’s Sixth Form College won a radio competition to see The Sugarbabes perform a private gig in London.

Keely Murton, 17, braved two live radio appearances to win the top prize and take 80 of her mates to see the girl band whose hits include Overload and Freak Like Me.

Keely won the pop quiz live on the Radio 1 Sara Cox Breakfast Show and also got to meet the Breakfast Show team on Thursday.

“I can’t wait. This is a really exclusive gig and I’m going to meet the band afterwards,” she told the Mail before setting off with over 50 college mates.

The BBC put on two coaches to take them up to a secret London venue for a preview showing of the group’s tour.

She said the radio appearance tested her nerves.

“I was really nervous, but the Radio One team called me ‘Calm Keely’.

“It was so exciting because I’ve never won anything like this before.”

The teenager won the first round on Tuesday and narrowly won the final.

“We both answered seven questions correctly in a minute.

“For the eliminating question we had to times how many albums The Sugarbabes sold by a number, and I got the closest.”
