NINE year old Samantha Rigby, from Frimley Green, became this year's Frimley Green Carnival Princess when she won the draw for princess held at the fun day in June.
Also drawn, as princesses-in-waiting, were nine year old Sophie Francis and seven year old Lucia Amabile. Sophie, from Frimley Green, and Lucia, from Mytchett, will accompany Samantha as she performs her carnival duties this coming weekend.
The three girls were instated at the annual family gala evening at the Lakeside Canal Suite.
Last year's princess, Maxine Hines, helped crown Samantha and presented her with her regalia and prizes.
Profits from the gala evening this year will be donated to the Katherine Appeal.
Once again, the princesses have been dressed for their carnival duties by Linda Cottrall, owner of the Bride of the Day wedding outfitters. As befitting this golden jubilee year, each girl will wear a beautiful golden gown and silver tiara.
Carnival Day, this Sunday, July 14, will see the girls ride together in the carnival procession in an open-topped classic car. The procession will leave Balmoral Drive, in Frimley, at 2pm and make its way along the Frimley Green Road and Wharf Road to Lakeside Country Club.
