UPROAR has followed the decision to close a doctors' surgery that serves the western part of Aldershot.

More than 700 people signed a petition protesting at the closure of the Heath End surgery and now a public meeting has been called for May 16.

Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust agreed to the closure at the request of the parent surgery in Downing Street, Farnham. The doctors' aim is to extend that centre. Said protest organiser Simon Heman of Cranmore Lane, Aldershot: "The trust is saying that we did not attend the meeting at which the decision was made but they did not tell us about it." Organisers are looking for people to offer lifts to the meeting for those without transport. If you can help or you need assistance ring either Denys Hayes on 01252 321797 or Simon Hemans on 01252 337560.
