The new series of Teachers, starring Andrew Lincoln and Fleet actress Raquel Cassidy (pictured left, far right), is full of surprises.

In the first episode, screened last night (Wednesday) she had the chance to show a very different side of Susan, the normally cool voice of reason on the hit show.

Serious Susan, the controlled coper to whom everyone turns for advice, suddenly fell for a new language teacher, handsome hunk ‘JP' (Shaun Evans) and her world turned upside down. She started to behave as neurotically as Simon (Andrew Lincoln).

Raquel, a former Farnborough Hill pupil, has a career which spans the stage (Twelfth Night at the National Theatre and The Censor at Royal Court), television and film (The Memory of Water with Julie Walters) and radio plays.
