THE Tesco superstore in Wellington Avenue, Aldershot, celebrated its official relaunch last week with the announcement its plans to sponsor a children’s charity event.
Store management have said they will sponsor this year’s Kids Out fun-filled day of activities for 500 children, due to be held in June.
The Kids Out charity is dedicated to the welfare of children with special needs, providing days out during the year, grants for special medical equipment and respite care to enable families and carers to take some time off.
Tesco store manager David Cawdron said: “We approached Kids Out chairman Nigel Butt to see if we could offer our support for this terrific day after a member of my staff brought the project to my attention.
“When Nigel suggested that we provide T-shirts for the 500 children attending the event we jumped at the chance.”
Nigel Butt, also a member of the Rotary Club of Farnham, said: “Rotarians and friends will be organising lots of fun events including model train rides, face painting and disco dancing.
“The T-shirts are a great way of providing visibility for all Kids attending our event and we are happy that Tesco has been able to offer support in this way.”
