MOTORISED scooters and motorbikes were threatening pedestrians on Sandhurst footpaths, a woman told Sandhurst town councillors at the annual town meeting last Monday.
Coun. Peter North said it was hoped that the skate park area would draw away some of the kids. He revealed that he had recently seen a motorised scooter doing an estimated 25 mph on the pavement.
An attempt had been made by the police to deal with the motorcycle problem by allowing a 26-acre site near Broadmoor to be used for off road riding - this had attracted 200 riders to its first open day.
