Surrey Heath's eleventh Borough In Bloom competition was launched in Camberley's Main Square by the Mayor, Coun. Ray Christie.

Borough residents are asked to brighten up the borough and try to win a prize.There are six categories to go for.

"You don't have to be a professional gardener and the aim is to bring out the gardener in everyone," stressed the Mayor.

Categories include the tallest sunflower; Main Square Traders' trophy for the best school garden; best front garden and best hanging basket.There is a section for pub frontages.

Closing date for the best school garden is June 10 and for other categories July 8. Judging is between June 11 and July 22, except for sunflowers, which take a little longer to peak.
