A MYSTERY blaze at an Aldershot house last Friday claimed the lives of a 78-year-old woman and her daughter.

The mother, Mrs Elizabeth Sellers, died in London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Sunday.

She was taken there with serious injuries suffered in the fire at the family home in Belle Vue Road.

Her 44-year-old daughter, Aamina Hussein, known locally as Audrey, was killed in the early morning blaze.

A fire crew discovered her body in the fire-wrecked living room. A petrol can was found nearby.

Mrs Hussein's two children, a one-year-old daughter and son aged 17, were rescued from upstairs bedrooms.

They were taken to Frimley Park Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. The pair are now being cared for by relatives.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the blaze which caused extensive damage to the terraced house.

Shocked neighbours raised the alarm at 5.30am after the front windows of the property were blown out by the force of the flames.

Fourteen fire fighters from Rushmoor and Farnham spent about an hour bringing the fire under control.

Forensic experts and fire investigators are still trying to establish the exact cause of the blaze.
