A two-year-old-girl from Aldershot is in hospital with serious injuries following a road accident.

On Sunday (March 23) a car collided with the girl in Belle Vue Road at around 10.20am.

She was taken to Southampton General Hospital and her next of kin have been informed of the incident.

The driver of the car, a blue Peugeot 206, was not injured and there have been no arrests.            

A Hampshire Police spokesman said the road was closed for four hours following the collision, to allow officers to carry out an investigation at the scene.
