Youngters were able to get close to some cuddly new-born animals when a farm opened its doors for the first time this year.
Those visiting Miller’s Ark Animals were able to meet the first early lamb, currently tucked up with her mother under a heat lamp in the barn, safe from the wind and rain.
There was also a chance to meet QT (Cutie), the farm’s three-week-old calf who was orphaned at birth.
The farm, in Blackstocks Lane, Hook hosts birthday parties and provides advice on how to look after pets. It also sells hay, straw and sawdust.
Among the weekend’s visitors was five-year-old Henry, who was delighted to meet the new lamb held by staff member Sara Maitland.
Farm owner Elizabeth Miller said she still has a few small chicks and young chickens for sale.
“Why not enjoy chickens in your garden? They are easy to keep and fun for all the family,” she said. “We also have a couple of 2013 castrated Pygmy goat kids for sale, some friendly lambs and Kune Kune piglets.”
