The Star's staff were in London last Friday to celebrate a jubilee - not the Queen's golden event but your favourite newspaper's own silver anniversary.

Led by managing director Fred Franklin, who has been at the helm throughout the quarter of a century; advertising, editorial and reception staff enjoyed a fabulous meal and boat trip down the Thames. The night views of landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Canary Wharf provided a never to be forgotten reminder of just how far the Star has come from its first appearance back in 1977 to today's unrivalled position within the local community.
