I AGREE with Peter Grimshaw's remarks in last week's issue of the News (March 8).

The collection service of the plastic bags is first class up to a point.

However there is a big hygiene problem with the plastic bag collection.

Each week the plastic bags are stacked up on the pavement outside the houses and each week before the bags are picked up, due to the time lag between collection and pick-up, they are the target for birds and animals breaking into the bags and scattering the contents over the pavements.

These contents of household rubbish then become the problem of householders to clean up the mess.

Come on Surrey Heath Council, give us wheelie bins in line with adjacent councils and clean up this unhygienic mess left on the pavements each week.
