Fleet Pond Society’s 2013 photographic competition attracted a record 95 entries.

With the theme Woods, Water and Wildlife, Liza Toth's photo of a swan on a choppy Fleet Pond was declared the winner during the society’s recent AGM. She was presented with the annual Rose Bowl trophy donated by Fleet Photographic.

Competition organiser Vicki Jull said the society members were delighted with the record number of entries from 34 photographers, with subjects ranging from the pond, resident swans and geese to fungi and even an adder.

Entries were judged by the committee of Fleet Morning Townswomen’s Guild, which helped fund the pond dipping platform between Hemelite Bay and the railway station car park.

Guild members Barbara Billinge, Nancy Sparrow and Vivien Shoesmith presented the winning Rose Bowl and highly commended certificates to Alison Acred, Ron Acred, Mark Hodson, Michelle Salter, Max Stevens and Simon Smith.
