A WOMAN chased a thief who was using a spade to break into her house in Frimley Green.

He fled through a neighbour's garden in Sturt Road and escaped in a yellow mini van driven by an accomplice.

Judy Williams, Camberley police press officer, said: "The victim arrived home from work just as the man had smashed a pane of glass in a door."

The thief was of southern European appearance, aged 24-25, about 5ft 1in tall with black, tight curly hair. He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.

His accomplice, who stayed in the van, was white with a thin face and shoulder length greasy hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and open neck shirt.

They stole the spade and a hedge trimmer.

PC Andrew Prentice would like to hear from anyone who saw the pair in the area on March 11 when the incident happened.

He can be contacted on 0845 125 2222.
