POLICE are quizzing a woman following a blaze which severely damaged a house at Farnborough last Saturday afternoon.

She was detained after being rescued unharmed from the semi-detached property in Churchill Close.

Station Officer Tony Vile, of Rushmoor fire service, said: "She had been taken to hospital for a check-up by the time we arrived."

Three Rushmoor fire crews dealt with the incident, which wrecked the lounge and caused smoke damage to the rest of the house.

The adjoining house was also smoke-logged. The cause of the blaze is at present unknown.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said on Monday: "A woman was detained and our investigations are continuing.

"She wasn't injured and there was no one else in the house at the time."
