Young well wishers for Russia's Winter Olympics

Aldershot's Alpine Ski Centre hosted a roadshow where people could write good luck messages for Team GB ahead of the Winter Olympics

Taster sessions were held at the open evening at the Alpine centre

A huge good luck message was prepared in Aldershot for Great Britain’s athletes heading to Russia for the Winter Olympics next month.

At a Sport England roadshow in the town’s Alpine Ski Centre, free lessons were offered to beginners and visitors were able to write messages of encouragement for athletes on a giant snowball.

Measuring around two metres in diameter, the inflatable ball will be seen by Team GB athletes before they depart to compete.

Susie Moore, development officer for Snowsport England, said: “Everyone was really interested in finding out about the Winter Olympics.”
