The incident occurred at the junction of Alexandra Road and Boundary Road between midnight and 12.30am.

The 18-year-old victim was walking a dog with his friend along Alexandra Road when they were approached by two men.

One of the men hit him in the face and searched through his pockets but nothing was stolen.

The victim’s friend was chased along Alexandra Road by the second suspect but was not caught.

PC Mark Chapman, from Aldershot police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident and may be able to help us locate the suspects.

“The offence happened late at night but there may have been people travelling home after a night out on the Saturday who saw or heard something that may assist the investigation.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Chapman at Aldershot police station by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
