Midnight flasher hunted

November 29, 2007

POLICE believe a flasher has exposed himself to more than one woman in Camberley – and they are warning women to be on their guard.
Two midnight incidents believed to involve the same man have been reported. Police are keen to hear from anyone who has more information about the man or who may have witnessed a similar experience but has not yet reported it.
The first incident took place on Saturday, October 6, in the multi-storey car park in Pembroke Broadway at around 11.40pm. A man approached a woman who was on her own and tried to engage her in conversation. The woman ignored him and got into her car and locked the door. At this point, the man exposed himself and the woman drove off.
The offender was described by police as “Oriental” with a very light skin tone. He was approximately 5ft 5in to 5ft 6in tall, in his mid-20s to 30s and of slim to medium build.
He had a dimpled face as if scarred from acne and very bad teeth. He was wearing denim jeans that looked like workmen’s trousers, a polo shirt and trainers. He spoke with a foreign accent.
The second incident took place outside the public toilets in Knoll Road, Camberley just after midnight on Sunday, October 14.  A man followed two women to the toilets but was told to go away. The man waited outside the toilets for the women to come out and then exposed himself to them. He ran off laughing in the direction of the railway station and the High Street.
PC Matt Chapman said: “I would like to remind people, especially women, to be on their guard when they are out at night. This man needs to be arrested and I would like to hear from anyone who may recognise him from the description given or anyone who may have suffered a similar experience recently.”
Anyone with any information can contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference D/07/20931. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called free on 0800 555 111.
