THE dreams of six young girls from the Star area were fulfilled when they were chosen as Flower Girls and Carnival Princesses in the run-up to the annual Fleet Carnival.
The Fleet & District Carnival Association held its selection event on Saturday in the Harlington Centre, in Fleet Road.
Hannah Kirby was chosen as the Carnival Princess, with runners up Sian Stewart and Kerry Mitchell close behind.
Holly Strowger was the chosen Flower Girl, with Alycia Alden and Becky Elliott as the first and second runners up.
The winners have a fun-packed year ahead of them, which includes riding on the Carnival float at the two processions on July 12, presenting awards at carnival events and various other local activities, fetes and festivities.
This year’s event was sponsored by Hampton’s International.
Ruth Fletcher from Hamptons was one of the judges.
She said she was delighted to support and be involved in a great community event.
The carnival theme is Travel And Transport. Details are now on the official website www. fleetcarnival.co. uk
